Franz Peter König or François-Pierre Koenig, called von Mohr, (1594-1647) was an important Fribourg mercenary leader, colonel of a regiment of His Apostolic Majesty, governor of Lindau and mayor of the city and republic of Fribourg, Switzerland.

The portrait shows the typical characteristics of copper engraving portraits of the time. In front of a recessed rectangular frame, the bust of Franz Peter König rises behind a parapet section in a written oval. In front of the parapet section is a magnificent version of König's updated coat of arms. The update was necessary when König was elevated to the rank of baron. His original coat of arms was therefore augmented by the arms of the Archdukes of Austria. The shield of the coat of arms is quartered. The first and fourth field heraldically in red show a white crossbar (coat of arms of the Archdukes of Austria) and in the second and third field a heraldically red and crowned lion appears, swinging a sword in his right hand. In the heart shield, a moor's head can be seen in blue. The three superimposed helmets repeat the individual attributes of the entire coat of arms in the crest. The griffin of the heraldic right helmet presents the Austrian red coat of arms with the white crossbeam, the middle helmet bears the gold-crowned Moor's head as a jewel and the heraldic left helmet the red crowned lion with a sword. The military rank of the sitter is indicated to the left and right of the opulent representation of the coat of arms
