English: Gavin Maxwell's grave at Sandaig Gavin Maxwell,(1914-1969), was many things; an army officer during WWII, shark fisherman, explorer, naturalist and author. He came to live here studying the otters which he kept and writing about them - Edal and Teko amongst them. His best known book is undoubtedly 'Ring of Bright Water', which was made into an award winning film and set here. In the book and film he changed the name of Sandaig to Camusfeàrna. When he died his ashes were buried here and a plaque erected on this boulder.
